NSD Faith

Faith is currently with her adult raiser. She has started College and goes to NSD for training 1 day a week. When not at NSD, she learns how to settle, cuddle and continue to be a welcomed member of the community. This training will help prepare her to be matched with her client.

All of the training and care provided to each dog would not be possible without the support of generous volunteers and donors.

Training Updates
NSD Faith

NSD Faith October 2022

Faith is such a confident and smart girl. She plays well independently and her house and crate training has been a great success. Faith is starting to get out in jacket on short public outings. She gives her attention to her handler and loves doing what she is asked for food rewards. Faith is already a pro at her basic commands but is working on being successful with added distractions. She is also working on increasing her duration when in a “sit” or “down.” Faith is an absolute joy to have in our home, and we are excited to see her journey into service!

Faith has come a long way over the last few months! She has conquered narrow stairways which were making her a little nervous at first. Faith goes to work full days 2-3 days a week in an educational setting and is always very professional. She is working on dog distraction and not vocalizing when other furry friends are in sight. Faith has amazing house manners and continues to be an absolute joy to have in our home.

NSD Faith continues to progress with her skills. She really is a perfect puppy in the home with good manners and habits. Faith is a joy to be around knowing when to be calm and composed and when it is ok to let her silliness out. In public Faith is working on applying all of her training with high levels of distraction. It is exciting to see her growth as she matures.

It is hard to believe that Faith will be heading off to the next stage of her training soon, but she is showing us that she is ready! Faith is enjoying some different experiences that come with summer like camping, restaurant patios, campfire safety and the beach (her favourite). Faith has made significant progress with distractions and this makes it possible for her to show off her great skills in even the busiest settings. At home Faith is such a loving, cuddly soul with a silly, playful side always bringing smiles to our faces. We are excited to see Faith develop her skills further in advanced training!

Faith has been actively learning at University. They have been learning resiliency with their basic obedience; settling in the kennel, heeling, food refusal and dog distraction. They have also been working hard and learning expectations with handler transfers. The training team is excited to continue to build on these excellent foundation behaviours, by helping Faith transfer these skills into the community.

Faith is an enthusiastic learner who, despite starting a week later, has already caught up in almost every way. She is working hard at putting movement on the perch.
