Our Partners
Our generous partners ensure that NSD can continue to train the highest quality Service Dogs to provide at no cost to our clients.
Since 2012, Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) has made significant investments, as a leading funder of PTSD Service Dogs. The preliminary results of the Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) funded efficacy study has reinforced and provided early clinical evidence that we know to be imperially true: Properly trained PTSD Service Dogs can and do change and save lives. #inthistogether
NSD is proud to partner with Wounded Warriors Canada to positively impact the lives of our veterans and first responders through PTSD Service Dogs and Peer Support Facility Dog teams. We are also grateful for their commitment to the mental health of the NSD Team. WWC has provided resiliency and trauma awareness training for staff through Warrior Health.
We have witnessed firsthand this profound connection between humans and animals – this was the inspiration behind The RAWZ Fund. We wanted to assist individuals and families who are affected by injury and/or disability. We do this through The RAWZ Fund by donating 100% of RAWZ Natural Pet Food’s profits to organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of those living with a disability – through the countless benefits of living with a service dog or skilled companion dog.
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated,” said Danielle Forbes, Executive Director for National Service Dogs. “These renovations will allow us to continue providing mental health support to Ontarians each year. We couldn’t be more grateful for this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant and the opportunities it will create.”
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations, celebrates 40 years of grant-making in Ontario and making a lasting impact in communities. Last year, OTF invested over $110M into 1,022 community projects and partnerships. Visit otf.ca to learn more.
For almost 20 years the Kiwanis Club has been supporting children and families living with autism through NSD’s Autism Service Dog Program. Their annual Celebrity Clown Event is tied to the Brampton Santa Claus Parade and each year NSD staff and graduates join in the fun and dress up as clowns and walk the parade – bringing joy to hundreds of children each holiday season.
