NSD Antoine

Antoine is currently with his puppy raiser. He is being taught a foundation of house manners and cues, for becoming a well-socialized part of the community.

Training Updates

Antoine is always ready for adventure and loves to explore! Right now, his favourite toy is his stuffed duck. He has mastered sitting, and this week he started to understand the “down” cue. We have been playing lots of games to work on calm and impulse control, and he comes with me to visit my friends and their kids 3 times a week. Antoine is a very fast learner, loves to work for his food, and enjoys snuggling with his humans.

Antoine is a big baby and gentle giant who loves nothing more than snuggling, being with his friends, and taking naps. So far he doesn’t love the summer heat, but really enjoys playing with his frisbee and splashing around in our kiddie pool. His favourite thing to do is make waves in the water and then try to catch them. He also enjoys playing with the kids at church on Sundays, and going around to different stores. The first thing anyone comments on when he walks into a room is his size – he’s definitely going to be a big boy!

Antoine is doing really well – he just had his last grade school check-in, and will be starting high school in September! His personality is a lot like the dog Doug from up – he’s just a big, snuggly doofus who loves spending time with his people. He’s happiest when he can have a person or another dog with him, but also does really well at settling in his crate when he’s alone. He’s starting to get a bit more freedom and opportunities to be left out of his crate when I’m not home and is doing really well with that as well. Playing in water, fetch, and taking naps are his favourite activities. I weighed him last month and he was about 71lbs – he’s really just a big, gentle giant. We’re still working a lot on his handler focus and learning that he can’t say hi to everyone we pass, but overall he’s doing really well with his training. He’s also very sensitive to emotions, and I can always rely on him for a snuggle when I’m feeling sad or stressed out. He is turning out to be an amazing dog with a ton of potential!
