Shasta is currently with her puppy raiser. She is being taught a foundation of house manners and cues, for becoming a well-socialized part of the community.
All of the training and care provided to each dog would not be possible without the support of generous volunteers and donors.

Shasta is a beautiful girl who has her heart in the right place. She loves to cuddle as much as she loves to play tug of war. Her recall is coming right along as is her “sit”, “stay” and “down”. We intend to work on her loose leash walking in the coming weeks and I have no doubt that she will do her best to learn this important skill. She is a complete joy to have around!
Shasta continues to be a very kind and loving girl to everyone she meets. She comes to work with me every day and is always eager to greet everyone with a huge tail wag. She learns new skills easily and is very eager to please. She brightens everyone’s day and is growing up so fast!
Shasta continues to impress me, and everyone else, every day. She meets all kinds of people in the clinic and always greets them calmly but with a wagging tail. She brings a smile to everyone she meets. She understands that she needs to behave differently with small children and has even had many interactions with babies. Her loose leash walking has come a long way and she rarely pulls anymore. We are working on her duration of “stays” but I know that she will grasp this quickly. She is an absolute joy to have around!!
Ask anyone who has met Shasta and they will all say what a beautiful, kind, and gentle dog she is. When she is at home, she is a VERY fun, happy, but well-behaved girl. When at work, she greets everyone with a huge tail wag, a smile, and a couple of sneezes! Then she goes back to her mat and rests until the next person arrives. She LOVES people (especially children!) but is also quite content to occupy herself. She is a very quick learner and loves to show off her new skills!
