NSD Margo

Margo is currently with her adult raiser. She has started University and goes to NSD for training 5 days a week. When not at NSD, she learns how to settle, cuddle and continue to be a welcomed member of the community. This training will help prepare her to be matched with her client.

All of the training and care provided to each dog would not be possible without the support of generous volunteers and donors.

Training Updates

Margo is one smart puppy! She picks up on everything so fast and is always eager to learn. We have nailed the sit command, and we are working on down. Margo is already walking very well on leash and we are learning that barking does not equal attention!

Margo is such a lovable dog. She has really grown into her big personality! She is gaining confidence every day and absolutely loves to learn. We are currently working on strengthening her commands and adding distance, distraction, and duration to really solidify her skills. We are also working on being less vocal, and not jumping when excited! Margo has been accompanying me to lectures and is doing amazingly well with all the hustle and bustle on campus.

Margo is so full of personality and is such a joy to have. She’s always eager to please and picks up everything very quickly. Right now we are working on greeting other people calmly, and solidifying some of her newest commands such as “spin”, “turn”, and “near”.

Margo is such an awesome dog. She’s got a big personality and she’s always looking to please. Margo just recently turned 1 year old which was very exciting! Right now we’re learning step, and how to walk on the opposite (right) side. She’s made great progress in the time I’ve had with her and I can’t wait to see the amazing things she’ll accomplish.

Margo is a sweet and lovable girl! She is working on mastering her high school skills such as stand, touch, chin, back and step. She will keep working on adding duration and distance to these skills and working in new environments until she moves on to her adult raiser home.

Margo is very friendly and gentle! She’s a joy to have around the home and is very affectionate! Margo is going to be starting University soon and we can’t wait!

Margo is a sweet and lovely puppy! She has recently been attending lectures with me and always stays very calm. Margo is working on being on the right side during walks and staying calm when being pet by new people.

Margo is a very sweet and playful girl. She has been working on being comfortable walking up/down a flight of stairs in new environments. She recently went to Ottawa where she visited the Canadian Museum of Nature, a very busy environment with full of distractions and she handled it like a champ. We also went to IKEA and some restaurants where we practiced “under”. She has made good progress, especially with settling before she meets a new person.

Margo has been actively learning at University. They have been learning resiliency with their basic obedience; settling in the kennel, heeling, food refusal and dog distraction. They have also been working hard and learning expectations with handler transfers. The training team is excited to continue to build on these excellent foundation behaviours, by helping Margo transfer these skills into the community.

Margo is all about that work life, she is excelling in her cues and is always ready for action!
