Become a Doggy Carpool Driver!

Have you wanted to get involved with the dogs at NSD? Becoming a doggy carpool driver is a great way to work with our dogs in training without the large time commitment associated with raising a puppy. It takes a village to raise a dog and doggy carpool drivers are important members.

Summary

Doggy Carpool drivers help transport university dogs between their adult raiser’s home and NSD’s facility in Cambridge, ON. Drivers are typically needed in Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener/Waterloo and Brantford. There could be additional other driving such as travel for vet trips. Volunteers will use their personal vehicle to transport the dogs between locations. Other tasks include communicating messages between staff and other volunteers and toileting the dogs on a leash when necessary. Volunteers will be trained on proper handling techniques and car etiquette. This position reports to the volunteer coordinator.

Schedule

The typical shifts required are Monday – Thursday, 7-8 am and 4-5 pm. Other shifts will be assigned as needed to any available drivers.

  • Level 1 Handling 
  • Valid G Drivers License 
  • Reliable Vehicle
