NSD Sapphire

Sapphire is currently with her adult raiser. She has started University and goes to NSD for training 4 days a week. When not at NSD, she learns how to settle, cuddle and continue to be a welcomed member of the community. This training will help prepare them to be matched with their client.

All of the training and care provided to each dog would not be possible without the support of generous volunteers and donors.

Training Updates

Sapphire is a puppy full of personality, currently, she loves spending her time playing in the snow and meeting new friends. SheNSD, National Service Dogs, Volunteer, Adult raiser loves to train and work and puts enthusiasm into everything she’s asked to do. She’s been working really hard on her walking skills and has now gone on a full walk flat collar without pulling. She is the ideal house guest, after a day of playing and training she loves to sleep by the fire and cuddle with her handler.

Sapphire is a very bubbly dog. Although is almost 2, I feel will always be a puppy at heart. No matter what she is doing, if it’s going for a walk, working on tasks or playing she puts 110% of her effort in and gets it done. She’s loving, goofy and just wants to be friends with everyone and anything she comes across. She is doing excellent in her training and whenever she is introduced to something new catches on extremely fast.

Sapphire is eager, smart and enjoys showing off her skills with speed. She has begun learning new cues while improving her reliability to previously learned cues, such as ‘Mat’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Under’. Sapphire is a fast learner, always happy to learn something new but also very pleased with settling on her mat; a great combination. The training team along with her adult raisers continue to work with Sapphire on body handling, cuddling and collaborative care.

Sapphire is being placed as a PTSD Service Dog. She will start team training at the end of October.
