NSD Monroe

Monroe is currently with her adult raiser. She has started University and goes to NSD for training 4 days a week. When not at NSD, she learns how to settle, cuddle and continue to be a welcomed member of the community. This training will help prepare them to be matched with their client.

All of the training and care provided to each dog would not be possible without the support of generous volunteers and donors.

Training Updates

NSD, National Service Dogs, Volunteer, adult raiserMonroe has a laid-back personality, which has a very calming influence on those in her presence. She loves squirrels and dogs and is working on remaining on task when she gets distracted by them. Monroe has recently made improvements to her leash walking and recall. She loves hiking, watching hockey on tv, and cuddling on her fleece blanket. Her favourite time of day is supper time. Monroe will be a huge asset in her future career.

Monroe will start training at NSD University on May 25th!

Monroe takes her work seriously and enjoys learning. She is smart and picks up on behaviours quite quickly. Monroe continues to improve her reliability to previously learned cues such as ‘Mat’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Under’. The training team along with her adult raisers continue to work with Monroe on distractions while out in public.
